Hello! I’m Evan Poitra
I started life out of high school joining the army reserve as a carpenter and immediately going to college. I learned that I loved building but was unsure if I could make a living and provide for a family doing so.
Fast forward several years and I became a paramedic, which provided a living, but not something I was passionate about in the long term.
One day my brother-in-law asked me to create a built-in bench for his growing family, in their new home. I was happy to help, and after a week of work, I had created a functional piece of furniture that his family absolutely loves. I had enjoyed the project so much that it had hardly felt like work at all.
And so my journey began; I would help friends and family with small construction projects and even found out I enjoy assembling furniture from IKEA (a surprise to everyone I tell).
Over the past several months I had reached out to a general contractor who has been instrumental in teaching me proper construction techniques and even encouraging me to start my own company!
